Judging Criteria

The AGSE Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame is headed up by a panel comprising Dean of AGSE's Business and Enterprise faculty, Professor David Hayward and Professor Murray Gillin, Professor Emeritus of Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

The selection process identifies entrepreneurs in six categories including High Tech Entrepreneur, Venture Finance, Start Up Entrepreneur, High Growth Enterprise, Family Business and Social Entrepreneur.

Judges mark inductees against a strict criteria including whether their efforts contribute to "wealth creation" both locally and internationally as well as their contribution to enriching the nation and community.

The leadership of the venture needs to be characterised by opportunity-seeking practices, coping with ambiguity, innovative approaches to sourcing necessary resources, managing risk creatively and developing a strong culture and values amongst staff.

The induction and selection process for the AGSE Hall of Fame is conducted in the second university semester each year, in the presence of invited guests from Swinburne, business, industry, community and government.
