The Sir Rupert Hamer
Lecture Series was initiated by the Swinburne Alumni
Association to recognise the significant role that
the late Sir Rupert Hamer played in the shaping
of Victoria. It also recognises Sir Rupert's contribution
to Swinburne through his membership of Council
for over 20 years. George Swinburne, the university's
founder, was Sir Rupert's uncle.
