Support for Students and Graduates with Disabilities

Identification of Your Skills

The skills that you can offer employers will depend not only on your studies but also on your life experiences and personality. In this context, living with a disability requires the development of many important skills that you probably don't even realise you have. The following table lists some skills and abilities that have been identified by university students and graduates with disabilities (Edwards, 1997). These skills are also important in that they are excellent general skills for working in just about any professional environment. They are generally regarded as essential or desirable skills by prospective employers.
