Swinburne students from all disciplines and year levels,
Higher Education, TAFE, International and local students are
all eligible to take part in voluntary work. Students undertaking approved Voluntary Work Placements are covered by Swinburne's personal injury or property insurance for the duration of their placement.
Voluntary
Work Placements must meet the following conditions:
The placement should be course-related
and/or assist with employability skills development The placement should be undertaken
on commercial premises or, if field work, performed under
appropriate supervision. The host employer must have an ABN The student must be enrolled at Swinburne
for the entire duration of the placement The duration of the placement must
be 40-80 hours over a semester or during semester break The hours may be worked in total
or on a part-time basisThe activity/placement is not considered
high-risk
Steps to follow when applying for this program
If you find a voluntary position on your own and not from SwinEmploy you must follow this procedure:
1. Student to download the Application Form for the employer to complete and return to the Careers Manager for approval

5. Student to contact the Careers Manager once you have completed the work to obtain a Certificate of Participation.
