About Development

The Human Resources development initiatives are designed to support staff in acquiring and enhancing knowledge and skills that will enable them to contribute more effectively to the achievement of Swinburne's goals.

These University-wide initiatives include facilitator-led courses and workshops offered for three different levels:

  • Leadership Development
  • Management Development
  • Professional Development

The HR Consultant for your area can assist with courses tailored to meet departmental training needs.

Participation in training

Participation in the range of training opportunities is available to staff in ongoing or fixed-term contract employment across all Swinburne University campuses. Training offered by Human Resources Department is free of charge, but your management unit needs to cover any cost relating to your absence to attend the course.

Staff employed on a sessional basis and staff of Swinburne's associated bodies may be included in courses, for a nominal fee, if places are available. Contractors and agency personnel working at Swinburne are not eligible to attend these courses.
