Compliance Commitment

Dear Colleagues

The University has an obligation to its staff, students and the community to ensure compliance with the law. As such Swinburne administers a rigorous compliance training program that is continuously reviewed to ensure all staff are aware of their responsibilities and able to carry them out.

In accordance with the Australian Standards, Swinburne's approach to compliance is shaped by the University’s core values and generally accepted corporate governance, ethical and community standards. The program is flexible and measurable, and supported by the promotion of a culture within the organisation that values compliance.

Staff and management are fully informed of the obligations relevant to their areas of responsibility and control through a compliance website, which details the program in place, and a compliance training program, that is administered by Human Resources.

Swinburne’s compliance commitment also fits within the overall risk management of the University with the training programme in place ensuring consistent standards are applied across the organisation.
