Upcoming Events

As we move through 2007, we approach a major milestone for Swinburne – our Centenary, in 2008.

One hundred years ago George Swinburne had a vision which was to establish a tertiary institution in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne which ‘would be necessary for nation building'. The coming year provides a time to reflect on what Swinburne has achieved in its 100 year history, and to look forward to the exciting opportunities and plans that lie ahead for our institution.

Contained in this issue of Alumni News is a message from our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ian Young. More specific details of celebratory events to be held during 2008 will be provided in the next Alumni News. Please take the opportunity to participate next year and celebrate our proud history and great potential.

Warmest regards,

Associate Professor Bruce McDonald
Director, Alumni & Development
