Welcome to WISE 2007
From
Professor Ian Young (Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia)
Dear Colleagues,
The 14th Waves in Shallow Environments (WISE) meeting will be held in Lorne, Victoria, Australia on April 15 - 19, 2007. It is the first time the WISE meeting has ventured to Australia. The meeting will be held in the small seaside town of Lorne, on the shores of the Southern Ocean and along the famous Great Ocean Road. For a wave researcher, this is one of the most magnificent spots in the world.
Interested participants may contact France Sampedro (RSMAS, Miami) at fsampedro@rsmas.miami.edu
with a copy to Luigi Cavaleri (ISMAR, Venice) at lcavaleri@ismar.snr.it to be added to the WISE mailing list. The local organiser is Alexander Babanin (Swinburne University of Technology) at ababanin@swin.edu.au.
The meeting will have the usual format. It will start with registration and an Ice-Breaker on Sunday 15 April. The formal part of the meeting starts on Monday morning, 16 April and will finish on Thursday 19 April. The meeting venue is the Grand Pacific Hotel in Lorne.
I look forward to meeting you at WISE 2007.
Ian Young
