  • The broad range of subjects in this program provides enhanced credit arrangements for students articulating from TAFE diplomas.
  • Up to 6 electives may be taken from other disciplines including Biotechnology, Business, Multimedia and Social Sciences.
  • Course content is designed to meet the needs of employers and industry.
  • Students who achieve satisfactory results during the course may apply to undertake an additional year of study, enabling them to graduate with an honours degree.
  • An optional and additional year of Industry-Based Learning (IBL) is also available.


Course Description

The program has a flexible structure allowing students to study a number of specialised electives from software development, information systems, networking, multimedia and games development. The program will suit those students who are seeking a general ICT program with flexible outcomes, or those who have not decided which area of ICT to specialise in.


Aims & Objectives

  • The skills necessary for working in a software development team on a small scale project;
  • An understanding of the process of software development;
  • Skills in developing software in C, C++, Java or VB .NET;
  • The communication and management skills required to manage projects successfully; and
  • Knowledge of and experience in database, data communications and information systems.


Entry Requirements

Successful completion of an appropriate Victorian Year 12 or its equivalent

VCE Prerequisites: Units 3 & 4 - a study score of at least 20 in English (any) and Units 1 & 2 of Mathematics (any).

Students admitted to the degree with a TAFE diploma or advanced diploma in IT may be granted advanced standing for previous studies.


Program Structure

The course involves completion of 24 subjects over a three year period plus one year optional Industry-Based Learning year. Entry is possible in both Semester 1 (Feb) and Semester 2 (July).

All students will undertake an Industry Linked Final Year Project.
