Kurniawan
Bachelor of Science (Information Technology)
Now having completed the Master of Information Technology at Swinburne I realise that it gave me the perfect base to follow my career goals. Studying Java, .NET and Games Development allowed me to explore my love of programming and I undertook valuable work as a tutor while studying at Swinburne. Since finishing my studies at I have been working as a .Net Developer at Visual Jazz.

Ripneet Singh
Master of Information Technology (Professional Computing)
Having now completed the Master of Information Technology (Professional Computing) I initially worked as a Software Developer at Momentum Technologies Group. I was involved in managing, displaying video streams by creating a portal for various industries, education institutions and emergency & health services. I was also involved in designing and developing a GUI for a visual communication tool for the emergency services, police and counterterrorism following the full SDLC.
Now working with Village Roadshow Limited, I have been involved in various projects, employed as an Application Developer. After my recruitment, my main role was managing the EDI systems and was solely responsible for handling the EDI queries, implementing EDI for new partners like JB Hi-Fi & Coles, creating data interfaces into SAP systems and interacting directly with external & internal clients.
I have since moved into the Digital Marketing development team at Village where I’m involved in developing and managing the myFun e-commerce web services and database systems. My role involves implementing new partners into the myFun ticketing system, developing an e-commerce reporting website for internal & external clients and creating interfaces from the ticketing system into SAP systems.
I congratulate Swinburne on their IT Master courses and particularly the new ICT employment programs designed for international students. They have worked for me.

Master of Technology (Information Technology)
I finished my MIT from Swinburne in July 2008. I had a 3 month break after my studies and then started applying jobs. I got selected for a Graduate position at WorkCover NSW in March 2009. Currently my role is Oracle Database Admin. I work with Oracle 9i, 10g, 11gR2 in UNIX environments. I studies all the database units that I was able to find available at Swinburne. In my last semester, the internship unit helped me to gain a good exposure to a real work environment which then helped me to secure my job. I feel lucky to have choosen Swinburne over other universities for my Masters studies.

Master of Technology (Information Technology)
Looking back over my last 3 months, I have no doubt that the opportunities I was given through my internship at Capix technologies were far beyond those of a "typical" internship. A good internship experience can be very significant for someone’s career – it can teach you things that years of studying simply cannot. This was my experience. Theory differs from practice, and working with people is something you are not taught directly while you are a student. That is why practice is so important, especially for an IT student like me. When I finished my internship, and returned to my faculty, everything was very different for me. I understood things better, and the knowledge I gained from literature finally took on a practical form. I don’t think that words are enough to best describe my experiences.
In the course on my internship, I learnt what it is like to actually work in Information Technology. The hands-on, real world experience that I've gained through my internship at CAPIX has proved to be invaluable. Internship at Capix has presented me with the opportunity to acquire IT skills that I have not previously been exposed to. From the very beginning of my time working at Capix, I was considered a part of the staff and expected to perform at a professional level. The atmosphere in the organization itself was motivating and cooperative. It was the perfect setting for me to 'learn-by-doing' and I am pleased to say that I believe my work at CAPIX was as contributory as it was educational. I feel that this internship has surely put me ahead of others who have not had similar experiences, when being considered for future positions in my career. Heartfelt Congratulations to the team at Swinburne who relentlessly keep working on providing the best of opportunities to students through internship projects!
