Department of Human Services Indigenous Training and Recruitment Initiative

The Victorian Government Department of Human Services (DHS) is currently seeking applications from current/potential students, through the Indigenous Training and Recruitment Initiative (INTRAIN) Scholarship Program.  Applications close at 5.00 pm on Monday 19 December 2011. Click here for further details including Application form (DHS website).

INTRAIN scholarships were introduced to improve the diversity and responsiveness of the Victorian Public Sector to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples by increasing employment outcomes.  Scholarships are valued at $25,470 per year and are offered to students studying either part time or full time.  Students must be studying towards:
  • the last one or two years of an undergraduate course;
  • the last one or two years of a post graduate course; or
  • a Diploma in the area of community services.
At the end of the scholarship (and qualification) there is no guarantee of on-going employment, but every effort will be made to assist with career options within DHS.

If you require further information on the INTRAIN Scholarship please contact the Senior Project Officer, Aboriginal Employment Strategies, DHS on 03 9096 7143.
