Technology Diffusion

The Institute provides industry with access to new manufacturing methods and technologies, as well as research and development services, to allow them to thrive in the modern competitive environment, and which would otherwise not be available due to cost considerations.

The Technology Diffusion group within IRIS acts as a conduit for establishing liaison between industry and IRIS, and Swinburne University of Technology in general. Through this conduit flows world-wide, state-of-the-art knowledge and technology that is applicable to Australian manufacturing industry. This information and technology helps the partner company to become more efficient and competitive by improving the quality and reliability of their offered goods and services, as well as decreasing their delivery times, time to market for new products and production costs. We stress that the most applicable technology is not necessarily the most "high tech or latest fashion trend". The emphasis is on the most applicable and affordable technology to improve industry’s competitive position.
