Linking to articles in Oxford Reference Online

You must be on campus to create the link but the link will also work from off-campus.

Linking to a dictionary or reference work

You can link to an individual reference work (such as a dictionary) contained in Oxford Reference Online.

  1. Go to Oxford Reference Online

  2. Locate the item you wish to link to and copy the link location.
    It will look like this:
    http://www.oxfordreference.com/views/BOOK_SEARCH.html?book=t62

  3. Insert the following text immediately before the URL:
    http://ezproxy.lib.swin.edu.au/login?url=

Example:

http://ezproxy.lib.swin.edu.au/login?url=http://www.oxfordreference.com/views/BOOK_SEARCH.html?book=t62


Linking to an extract or definition

You can link to an extract or definition of a term from a reference work or dictionary.

  1. Go to Oxford Reference Online and search for a term.

  2. Go to the definition you want to link to and copy the URL from the address bar.
    It will look like this:
    http://www.oxfordreference.com/views/ENTRY.html?ssid=427219829&entry=t62.002367&srn=5#FIRSTHIT

  3. Insert the following text immediately before the DOI:.
    http://ezproxy.lib.swin.edu.au/login?url=
