Linking to articles in Subject Materials Online

These instructions are for Internet Explorer for Windows. You can also do this using Netscape.

  1. Go to the library catalogue.

  2. Click the Reserve tab and search for an article.

    You can search by:
Subject Code to see all Reserve items for a subject
Instructor name to see all Reserve items for an instructor
Reserve title to find an article title
Reserve Author to find an author of an article

  3. Go to the Item Information screen.

  4. Click the right mouse button on the URL link, then choose Copy Shortcut from the popup menu.

  5. The link for the article is copied to the Windows clipboard.

You can now paste the link into another application, such as a web page, Word document, or BlackBoard or WebCT.
note!

Don't go to the Subject Materials Online article and copy that URL

You must copy the URL from the catalogue as described above. If you view the Subject Materials Online article and copy that URL the link will not work. See Bookmarking EZ Proxy resources for more details.
