Linking to online resources
(including journal articles, journals, ebooks, databases, the library
catalogue and Supersearch)
Swinburne Library provides access to several hundred online databases
containing thousands of journals and books, and millions of journal
articles.
It's usually possible to create a link from a web page, or from
your BlackBoard or WebCT course pages, directly to these databases,
journals, books and articles. You can also create a link to the
library catalogue and Supersearch.
In most cases you are not permitted to make copies of articles
etc. to post on a web site, but you can make a link to an article
in an online database. If you're just creating a link you don't
need to ask for permission and you don't need to worry about copyright.
To make sure that your links will work reliably and that the links
will work from off campus you should follow the instructions we've
created for creating these links.
