24 hour LateLab at Hawthorn Library
The 24 hour computer lab is available to all Swinburne students and staff.
Access the LateLab
- Register for 24 hour access
Register your Swinburne ID card details online every semester.
Access will be granted within 24 hours of submitting this form (Monday - Friday only).
Located on level 1 and 2 of Hawthorn Library, after hours access is through the LateLab door in the Atrium.
For security reasons you must leave the LateLab when the library closes. You may then re-enter through the after hours door. After hours access to level 1 is by lift only, using your card.
Opening hours
The LateLab is open 24/7. It is closed over the Christmas and New Year period and may be closed for scheduled or emergency maintenance at other times. Closures will be advertised on the library hours webpage and on the LateLab and Atrium doors.

During normal opening hours you can ask the desk staff or rovers for any assistance or contact the library online.
If you need to call Security (9214 3333) there is a phone linked directly to Security on a pillar near the LateLab door.
Emergency procedures
Emergency procedures and floor plans are posted in the LateLab on levels 1 and 2 - note your nearest emergency exit route. In an emergency call Security (9214 3333) on the emergency phone on the pillar near the LateLab door.
Your responsibilities
Help us maintain a good environment in the LateLab for everyone.
- Your Swinburne ID card is for your use only - do not bring others in and do not prop the door open, an alarm will sound.
- Respect other users by keeping noise to a minimum.
- Keep the LateLab clean and tidy by putting your waste in the bins provided.
- Carry your Swinburne ID card with you - Security staff may ask to see it.
