About Games and Interactivity at Swinburne
The Bachelor of Arts course aims to develop a broad knowledge of the game and game development industry and its relationship to society and popular culture. You will study a range of subjects from areas such as interactive gaming, 3D modelling and animation, multimedia design and technology, through to the political economy of the media and the sociological impact of electronic games.
Students interested in programming and games development may wish to consider the Multimedia/Science course. This provides students with a broad range of multimedia production skills combined with extensive skills in the software engineering and development required to develop games and interactive applications
Courses
On completion of your Bachelor degree you may apply to join the Honours program. This usually involves one additional full-time year (or the equivalent part-time) of specialised academic studies..

The Games Research Group is made up of a number of Swinburne researchers, from a variety of backgrounds and interests, who share a cross-disciplinary interest in online multiplayer computer games. The group seeks to share information about games research generally, and games research work at Swinburne University of Technology specifically.
Industry-Based Learning in Games and Interactivity (IBL)
Swinburne's Games and Interactivity courses include an optional Industry-Based Learning (IBL) year in which you may be placed in paid, supervised employment as part of your degree. IBL gives you practical experiences and a proven advantage in the job market.
