About Sociology at Swinburne
Swinburne sociology is practical and applied. You will consider issues that affect modern society,
such as the impact of new technology on society, the role of the family in society, how society
shapes sexuality, the effects of immigration and ethnic diversity on society and how society values
are formed.
As part of an Arts or Social Sciences degree, you will also have maximum flexibility
to mix and match your sociology subjects with a range of other potential majors (e.g. politics,
literature, philosophy etc).
