Swinburne Research Scholarships
Swinburne University offers a range of scholarships for Research Higher Degrees (PhD's, Masters by Research etc.). Applications for the 2009 scholarship round are now closed, however, Research Higher Degree candidature is considered all year round (please visit the postgraduate research studies page for more information). The next round of scholarships will be held mid-year 2009.

The following Scholarships are available for 2009
Chancellors Research |
The Chancellor’s Research Scholarship is open to outstanding applicants in all discipline areas, either Australian citizens or international students) to study towards a PhD. (Total value: over $58k p.a.). tax free for up to 3 years.
Each scholarship offers a non-taxable stipend of $30k, an establishment grant and overseas placement. For more information please download the below scholarship guidelines booklet.
International PostgraduateResearch Scholarship (IPRS) |
International Postgraduate Research Scholarships are open to international applicants only. These scholarships are provided to cover annual tuition fees for two years for a Masters degree by Research and three to four years for a Doctoral research degree. The scholarships will also cover the costs of health care cover.
The International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) scheme is funded by the Commonwealth Government through the Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations (DEEWR). Its purpose is to attract high quality overseas postgraduate students to areas of research strength in higher education institutions to support Australia's research effort. These scholarships may be available for international students from any country undertaking postgraduate research in areas of University research strengths. Australian Postgraduate |
Australian Postgraduate Awards are available to domestic students with a First Class Honours result or equivalent, to support their study towards a Higher Degree by Research. Awards are available in all Discipline areas.
Australian Postgraduate Awards offer a non-taxable indexed stipend of around $20,000 p.a. and a tuition fee scholarship (total value: around $40k p.a.) for up to three years for doctoral studies and two years for Masters by research. Relocation assistance and thesis preparation assistance are provided. These scholarships are open to Australian citizens and permanent residents. Swinburne University Postgraduate Research Awards and Vice Chancellor’s Research Scholarships offer a non-taxable indexed stipend of around $20,000 p.a. and a tuition fee scholarship (total value: around $40kp.a.) for up to three years for doctoral studies and two years for Masters by research. Tuition Fee Scholarship |
The Tuition Fee Scholarship offers a tuition fee exemption (valued at $20k p.a.) for up to four years for doctoral studies and two years for Masters by research. This scholarship is open to both local and international students.
