Swinburne provides flexibility and choice to undergraduate students by providing a range of study options during Summer & Winter Terms. These six week teaching periods can provide you with the opportunity to undertake for example a single unit of study, a four unit minor or an Electives Plus minor. Consider:
- Spreading your degree outside the normal semesters, or you can even fast track it.
- Undertaking a single unit of study which can be counted towards a minor.
- Enhancing your degree with either a depth or breadth Summer & Winter Term minor.
- Undertaking one of the Electives Plus minors which arespecifically designed to broaden your career skills and strengthen your employability.
- Summer & Winter Term single units of study for your personal development, upgrading of your skills, or even repeating that failed unit of study.
- The specialist Options Plus unit, Analysing and Writing English is available for Non-English Speaking Background (NESB) students.
- Units available on-line through Open Universities Australia (OUA)*.
- Study Tour units of study. For example, consider the units (four weeks duration in winter) at the amazing destination of Kuching, Malaysia. It’s the home of Swinburne's Sarawak campus.

* OUA units are normally undertaken over a 12 week period in Summer.
